Yes. All 33 packs and all 1,634 places ship with the app — nothing is hidden behind the purchase. What the lifetime unlock removes is the cap on how many stamps you can collect and the extras listed on the home page.

Each place has its own radius — tight for a building like a lighthouse or a church, very wide for a national park. The message tells you the remaining distance. Move closer and try again, or log the place manually.

A GPS check-in reveals the stamp in colour and earns XP. A manual one still counts the place in your collection and colours the prefecture, but the stamp stays grey and gives no XP. Manual check-ins can be undone from the place page; GPS ones cannot.

The app rejects positions reported as mock locations by Android, which some GPS-spoofing apps set. If you have such an app installed, disable it. Otherwise, an indoor position can be inaccurate — step outside and retry.

Some packs are not fully illustrated yet: on the more recent ones only the Legendary and Epic places have their drawn stamp so far, the others show a kana circle. They are being filled in over time and arrive with app updates — nothing is lost in the meantime.

The map, the list of places, their descriptions, GPS check-in, your passport and any photo you have already opened. Place photos download on first view, so they need a connection once.

The download includes Japan's base map, which is the bulk of the size. Photos are cached as you browse, so the app grows with use; clearing the app cache from Android settings frees that up without touching your progress.

Settings → Backup → Export produces one file — a .json, or a .zip if you have journal photos. Keep it anywhere you like, then on the new phone: Settings → Backup → Restore. Export and restore are free.

No — it replaces. The confirmation screen shows both volumes (what's in the file, what's on the phone) before anything is overwritten, precisely so this isn't a surprise.

Part of the lifetime unlock. You pick a folder once, and the app rewrites its backup file there whenever something changed, when the app goes to the background. Nothing is sent to a server.

That's deliberate: the unlock belongs to your Google account, not to the file. On a new phone, install the app, sign in with the same Google account and use Settings → Restore purchase.

Refunds are handled by Google Play. Within 48 hours you can request one directly from your Google Play order history; after that, write to us and we'll help.

Tell us which one — corrections are applied to the catalogue and go out with the next update. Coordinates are triangulated from several sources, but a few hundred places are still flagged as needing a check, and businesses do close.
